First Android Prototype Phone
I came across an article and video on USA Today about the first known Android-powered Google-application mobile phone.
The phone is an HTC smartphone running on Android and has Google applications loaded. Check out the video which includes an interview with Andy Rubin from Google and a phone demonstration. I’m amazed at how clear the display is and how well the applications work without a full-size QWERTY keyboard as the input device.
I think the key to widespread adoption of the mobile web is exactly that: location-based services offered through applications that do not have keyboard input requirements.
Powerful next generation stuff!
