Congratulations Synthasite & Welcome 2008
I’ve been a little slow in deciding where I want to be opening my mouth in 2008, so there hasn’t been much going on here or at my Thought Leader blog. That’s certain to change as I’m going to be keeping my regular blog here in the future.
I think I’ve learnt quite a bit about professional blogging in the last year while writing for TL (Thanks Vince!) and one of those insights is that TL is not the place for a chat between friends. Every time that I post at Thought Leader it takes me ages to put the post together. I feel as if I’m required to say something really smart and insightful and build an argument around it every time. I’m not really having a chat with my friends in that forum, as much as I’m engaging in intellectual debate and that can get tiring.
Oftentimes I really just want to write a paragraph or two about what’s going on in the web and leave it at that. Well now I’m going to. Right here.
On another note, some changes are afoot at KeyJam. Vinny Lingham, my partner in KeyJam has managed to secure $5-million in Series-A VC funding through Columbus Venture Capital (part of the Richemont Group) for his web publishing startup, Synthasite.com, that will see him and the Synthasite team relocating to Silicon Valley. Vinny will understandably focus his attention on Synthasite and so geographical constraints aside, he wont be involved in KeyJam going forward. All my very best wishes to Vinny, Brent, Stefan, Peter and the rest of the team as they fly the Synthasite flag high in 2008.

[…] Well 3 months on the web can be a lifetime and it almost feels that way for KeyJam. Half of us is back in 2008 and while we thought that we were working on something big, but that’s not the way that it has worked out. […]
